1. Before driving a car, do a simple safety check. Turn on the lights and walk around the vehicle to ensure that all lights are in working order. Also check your blinkers for proper operation.

2. When driving a car, adjust all mirrors and seats before placing the key in the ignition.

3. Seat belts are the key to road safety, so always wear your seat belts.

4. Replace windshield wipers that leave streaks or don’t clear the glass with a single swipe.

5. Before driving a car, check and adjust tire pressure to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended settings and don’t forget the spare.

6. Always drive with your headlights on. Driving a car with headlights on is visible nearly four times the distance even during daytime hours.

7. When a light turns green, look left, then right, straight ahead, then left again before proceeding through the light. Noticing all vehicles and ensuring no one is going to run the light is a key to road safety.

8. Keep your eyes moving. This is a much neglected car safety tip. Notice what is happening on the sides of the road and check behind you through your mirrors every six to eight seconds.

9. Drive Defensively! Expect other drivers to make mistakes when driving a car. Think what you would do if a mistake happens. For example, do not assume that a vehicle coming to a stop sign is going to stop.

10. Check your oil and other fluid levels frequently. Look for noticeable leaks throughout the engine compartment.

11. Remember, as your speed increases, so does your braking distance. If you double your speed, you quadruple your braking distance. If you double the weight of your vehicle, you double your braking distance.

Keeping these car safety tips in mind every time you get behind the wheel will help you, your family, and your fellow drivers be safer while on the road. Remember drive defensively!

Age is not the sole criteria in determining driving safety. Certain physical changes do occur with aging and can affect one’s ability to anticipate and react to driving situations. As more of the “baby boom” age move past 55 years of age, more attention is being placed on this groups driving habits to assist them with driving safety. The fastest growing group is people over the age of 70 with more than 19 million people driving in the United States alone. Statistics show driving habits of this age and driving group change and are more likely to be involved in multiple vehicle accidents than even teenagers. Also driving safety decreases with more traffic citations issued to this age group for failing to yield, turning improperly, running red lights and stop signs.

As people age, reduced vision capacity, diminished hearing and slower reaction times affect driving safety. Even if vision is normal, “mature” eyes lose some contrast sensitivity, which is critical to driving safety. Loss of contrast sensitivity can make it difficult at night or on very bright days to see road hazards which may change driving habits. As well, hearing loss makes drivers less able to hear honking horns, screeching tires and emergency sirens. Despite these potential problems, age and driving remain valued treasures for independence and mobility. Many compensate by making changes in their driving habits. They may limit their driving habits to daytime hours, avoid driving in inclement weather or during heavy peak traffic times.

Here are some driving safety tips for all drivers:

1. Allow plenty of time to get to your destination, so you are not rushing if traffic becomes slow and create the possibility of road rage.
2. Know where you’re going and map your route out ahead of time so you aren’t distracted by looking at a map while you are driving.
3. Maintain solid driving habits by avoiding potential distractions like the radio, cell phones, conversations with passengers, or eating.
4. Take a refresher driving course, regardless of your age, about defensive driving to maintain driving habits.
5. Stay alert and give plenty of room to react to cars in front of you.
6. If you are uneasy in heavy traffic, change driving habits and avoid driving during peak hours.
7. Have your car serviced and maintained on a regular basis to avoid problems while on the road.

Managing road rage is a daily struggle with drivers on the road. Road rage continues to rise according to all the leading national auto clubs. So what are the major factors which cause road rage and what actions can be taken in managing road rage?

A recent survey by AutoVantage, a leading automotive benefits club, found the following factors as primary causes for road rage:
1. Talking on cellphones (more than 80% indicate they talk on their cellphones while driving)
2. Driving too fast
3. Tailgating
4. Changing lanes unsafely
5. Eating or drinking while driving

Not surprisingly, each of these were observed at least once a week by over 80% of those surveyed. The survey asked respondents how they reacted when they encountered an unsafe driver. The top two reactions were honking the horn or cursing at the unsafe driver. However more aggressive drivers, included running into the back of the unsafe driver, on the survey results. Even the simple honking of the horn can lead to more aggressive actions and road rage. All these factors are a result of us as a society being in too big a hurry and the “need” to constantly be accessible. The result is a distraction while we drive thus becoming an unsafe driver and an increase in road rage. All which puts each of us in peril.

What actions can drivers take in managing road rage?

A simple reminder of what we all learned when we first started driving; drive defensively. Keep your eyes moving. Notice what is happening all around you and check your mirrors frequently. Experts say simple relaxation tips such as deep breathing, or even listening to calming music, can reduce road rage. Police are doing their part as well, with many departments watching out for road rage behaviors. Many cities now use unmarked vehicles to track aggressive drivers, as well as aircraft to patrol the skies and roadways for road rage.

With so many on the road each day, find ways to relax and remain focused while driving. If you do encounter an unsafe driver, let the professionals handle it if you feel something must be done. Take down their license plate and call it into the police at your earliest convenience (not while you’re driving!). If we each work a little harder at managing road rage each day, our roads will be a safer place to travel.

With the economy in dire straits over the past year, it is of little surprise that the number of repossessed cars is on the rise. Although not good news in general, it does provide a great opportunity to obtain one of these repossessed cars at a significant bargain price. Because of the increased numbers of repossessed cars, the inventory is larger with the car auction sites which has put more urgency on wanting to sell their repo cars more quickly. This often means cars are listed at prices even lower than normal. It is not unusual to currently find cars listed up to 70% below the car book value. Many of these repossessed cars are less than 2 years old with very low mileage and in great condition. Although car dealerships are offering significant incentives to buy new cars currently, if you are in the market for a vehicle, looking at car auction sites may be a better option. If you want more information on car auction sites, click here.

Over 5 million Auto Check reports are run every month by auto auctions, dealers & consumers. If you are in the market for a used car, one of your biggest concerns is getting value for your money. With an Auto Check vehicle history report, you can buy with confidence by learning exactly what you are buying. An Auto Check vehicle history report will answer common concerns on the mind of every used car shopper, such as: how many people have owned this car?; has the car ever been in an accident; has the used car been damaged by floods, fires, hail or other natural disaster?; is the mileage on the odometer trustworthy?; has the car ever been recalled?; is there a lien on the vehicle?, and much more.

Auto Check also offers a Buyback Protection which reduces the risk of hidden problems that can be part of buying a used vehicle. It is a simple protection, if Auto Check misses anything, they will buy the vehicle back. Auto Check provides a full year of coverage to protect you from major title problems that may be missed in their search with the Department of Motor Vehicles. Click here to Auto Check® that pre-owned vehicle before you buy!

As a follow up to our article on hybrids, the following article reprinted from Edmunds.com will be helpful to those considering a purchase of a used hybrid car. Enjoy the article but make sure you come back and visit us often!

“Size/Market Segment: Hybrid cars range in size from compact economy sedans to nine-passenger full size hybrid SUV’s. The largest population of hybrids resides in the midsize sedan segment.

Price: As a rule of thumb, hybrid cars are about 20 percent more expensive than their all-gas counterparts. The cheapest hybrids are in the low-$20,000s while the most expensive hybrid luxury model costs well over $100,000. New hybrids are being planned by almost every manufacturer, so waiting a year or two will probably drive down the price while increasing the options in terms of manufacturer and vehicle type.

Engine/Fuel Economy: Hybrids break up into two categories: fuel-efficient hybrids (getting from 35-50 mpg) and more performance-oriented hybrids (getting from 20-30 mpg). The latter hybrids still offer relatively good fuel economy, but the emphasis is on performance. That performance might come in the form of outright speed, as with the hybrid luxury sedans from Lexus, or in the form of pure functionality, as with the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, which is designed to be as rugged and off-road-capable as a regular Tahoe.

Safety: In general, hybrid cars are as safe as all-gasoline cars, but concerns have been raised about accidents that damage or expose the batteries for fear that electric shocks are possible. However, hybrids have been on the market for eight years now and accidents of this kind have not been reported. Additionally, hybrid manufacturers say they have taken steps to educate emergency responders so they can help accident victims without risking injury.

Luxury Features/Convenience: Most hybrids are slightly more upscale than their corresponding gasoline counterparts. This is due to an effort by hybrid manufacturers to justify the premium that buyers pay for the privilege of saving gas. Upper-level luxury models feature the latest in electronic gadgetry and amenities.

Passenger Capacity/Interior Space: Early hybrid vehicles were limited in interior space because the batteries took up room behind the backseat or in the cargo area. Newer models have gotten better at maximizing interior space, so this is no longer an issue for hybrid buyers. Toyota’s Highlander Hybrid, for instance, can seat up to seven passengers, while the hybrid Tahoe and hybrid GMC Yukon can accommodate up to nine.

Cargo Space: Some hybrids are not as flexible in their use of cargo space because the rear seats do not fold down, while batteries tend to eat up trunk space. Likewise, hybrid SUVs usually lack anything in the way of under-floor storage because the battery pack is located here, and payload capacity (the amount of weight you can safely carry inside or on top of the vehicle) may be slightly reduced. In most cases, though, hybrid vehicles are nearly as practical in this regard as normal cars and SUVs.

Operating Costs: Some drivers of early hybrid cars reported accelerated tire wear because of the narrower tires that offered less rolling resistance for improved mileage. But tire wear on today’s hybrid vehicles should be approximately the same as that of a similarly sized vehicle with a conventional drive train. Other operating costs, such as oil changes and routine maintenance, are comparable to normal cars. In some cases, brakes last longer due to hybrids’ regenerative braking systems. Hybrid manufacturers offer longer warranty coverage for the hybrid specific components, usually eight years, so you’re covered if something goes wrong with the batteries or electric motor. One of the few unknowns is the cost of replacing the hybrid batteries, though manufacturers contend the batteries are designed to last for the life of the vehicle.”

Whether your cause is stopping global warming or stopping the dependence on foreign oil, this collection of fuel-efficient vehicles promises to make a difference for our planet, our country and our wallets. However, not all hybrids are created equal. They now come in a variety of body styles, and different manufacturers employ different methods for achieving the marriage between a gasoline engine and one or more electric motors.

Of course, the king of all hybrids is the Toyota Prius. This is the only model on the market that comes exclusively as a hybrid, and it has transformed this segment from environmentalist oddity to mainstream vehicle. It is now one of the 10 best-selling cars in the country, thanks largely to outstanding sales in California. That’s despite the fact that the most populous state is no longer handing out carpool lane stickers that allow Prius drivers to cruise solo in the diamond lanes. This year, the Prius gets a lower base price to become the cheapest hybrid, and its mix of driving comfort, utility and high feature content make it as desirable as ever.

The Prius’ closest competitor is the Honda Civic Hybrid. This four-door compact sedan is more fun to drive and generally feels more like a normal car than Toyota’s hit hybrid, but the Civic is slower and doesn’t provide the same amount of interior versatility. Note that Honda’s slow-selling Accord Hybrid has been discontinued.

Hybrid power trains have also migrated to America’s favorite type of car — the family sedan. Both the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima hybrids utilize Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive technology to create incredibly fuel-efficient vehicles with more traditional sedan body styles. The Altima Hybrid in particular is the first we’ve found to be actually fun to drive. If there is one major drawback to the hybrid versions versus their regular counterparts, it’s that their battery packs shrink trunk size. In addition, the Altima Hybrid is only for sale in California, New York, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont.

Two other hybrid family sedans are the Saturn Aura Green Line and Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid. These are considered “mild hybrids,” utilizing a simpler design and much smaller electric motors. This equates to a vehicle that can barely travel on electric power alone (unlike Toyota’s system) or give much of a boost to the gasoline engine. As a result, these hybrids are slower and offer a negligible fuel economy benefit versus the regular-gasoline four-cylinder Aura and Malibu.

SUVs are also now part of the hybrid fray. The Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon are the first vehicles to be equipped with General Motors’ new two-mode hybrid system. Working like Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive, these full-size sport-utilities have the ability to operate in electric mode up to around 20 mph. This contributes to fuel economy of 21 mpg for both the city and highway. By comparison, a four-wheel-drive Tahoe with a conventional 5.3-liter V8 gets 14 mpg city and 19 mpg highway.

The redesigned Toyota Highlander Hybrid is a family crossover SUV with room for seven passengers and fuel economy in the mid 20s. It is a tad pricey, however. Also deserving of that description is the Lexus RX 400h, which seats only five. Although certainly more fuel-efficient than its regular gasoline counterpart, the hybrid RX’s price premium is apt to be off-putting for all but the most ardent green buyers. This same criticism can be leveled at the Lexus GS 450h and Lexus LS 600h L luxury sedans, but their emphasis on performance makes them questionable choices even for the greens.

The rest of the hybrid SUV segment consists of compacts. Most are related to the Ford Escape Hybrid, including the Mercury Mariner Hybrid and Mazda Tribute HEV. All three utilize a Toyota-designed full hybrid setup and subsequently get the best gas mileage one can currently achieve with an SUV at 34 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. Each was substantially revised last year (the Tribute HEV is a new offering), and these SUVs feature improved interiors and updated styling. If you want a hybrid with real fuel-efficiency, but need more utility than a Prius can provide, these are your best options.

The Saturn Vue Green Line hybrid is similar in size to the Escape triplets, but like the Aura Green Line, it’s a mild hybrid. While it boasts a 27 percent fuel-economy improvement over the gasoline four-cylinder Vue, these gains are largely dependent on the type of driving you do. The Vue Green Line’s 25 mpg city rating falls 9 mpg short of the Escape Hybrid, yet at 32 mpg, it gets the best highway mileage of any SUV.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How up to date is your auction information?
Our information is always kept up to date with proper categories. It is also available 24/7 and your membership is available for a lifetime!

Is your payment processor secure?
Absolutely! All orders are processed by ClickBank.com, a proud third payment processor and your information is 100% safe and secure GUARANTEED! We accept Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express®, Discover®, US Checks and PayPal.

How complicated are the traditional auctions?
Not complicated at all. Typically, you would arrive to your local-area repossessed car auction early in the morning and inspect the cars on the lot that are up for sale that day. Usually, many cars would start from only $100 and if there is limited number of attendees that day (and we have so many sources that it’s virtually guaranteed that you will have almost no other bidders) than you are very likely to get the car you want for a ridiculously low amount when the actual bidding starts later that day!

Do some of the auctions offer online bidding?
Absolutely! Some of the auctions do allow you to bid online. Most are live auctions and you have to attend which gives you the opportunity to inspect the auctioned items.

Are the really cheap cars just wrecked cars with a salvage title?
No absolutely not! Many of the vehicles available are almost new with low miles. These types of vehicles are usually seized by law enforcement agencies and sold for dirt cheap at auctions throughout the country.

Are there any warranties available for the cars I buy?
Typically, an auction center or website source would offer a 3 month warranty or guarantee free of charge. For extended warranties, small fee would apply, depending on the source. But, in general, it’s never a problem, since many cars are almost brand new and in perfect condition.

Is this site affiliated with the U.S. or any other government?
No. The founder and CEO of our parent company is a former U.S. government employee. However, we are not affiliated with the U.S. government, nor are we associated in any way with any state, local or other government.

Will you automatically renew my membership when it expires, and bill my credit card again, without my specific authorization?
No. the membership is a ONE TIME CHARGE, you will never be re-billed.

So why wouldn’t everyone buy a car this way, instead of the usual going to the dealer or classified ads routine?
Because this is a very protected source of revenue for the majority of car dealerships and is not advertised to the general public. However, we have gathered enough information and access rights to be able to let our members enjoy a multitude of the direct sources where one could find their next vehicle with up to 90% savings off the book value price.

Do you update the Government Auctions and Foreclosures listings in the Member section?
Yes. We use a sophisticated database of government auctions, and update it quite frequently (including additions) in order for you to have in hand current information, and as many government auction listings as possible. Additionally, Our Foreclosure listings are updated at least every week.

Is there a way to check the VIN of the car that I like?
Absolutely! Many auctions would offer a complimentary CarFax™ VIN report before you start bidding for your peace of mind.

Can I really buy or find all the items displayed on your homepage at Government Auctions?
Yes. Most certainly. In fact, each of the items of property pictured on our home page were not too long ago up for auction at various auctions by the Government. Moreover, due to space limitation, we could obviously not include pictures of representations of every type of property that is available at government auctions. We included real estate, personal and business automobiles, boats, recreation vehicles, motorcycles, furniture, art, jewelry and watches, and electronics as these are generally the most sought after and available items at government auctions. However, many many more items and properties are available at government auctions, only some of which are businesses, farm equipment, fixtures, undeveloped land, retail stores, industrial properties, golf courses, aircraft, hardware, laboratory equipment, collectibles, a whole bunch of different types of general merchandise, and even animals and stables. Think of it this way: anything that you ever wanted to buy, you probably can find at government auctions.

Are there any online auctions that have seized vehicles, I don’t like the traditional “bid-on-the-lot” kinds?
Of course there are. There is an increasing demand for online access to the vehicle listings and ability to bid and buy online… and we will give you complete access to those sources.

I’ve heard that I can buy an expensive car, house, boat or aircraft at a government auction for $10. Is this true?
No. Well, let us clarify that: It is possible, although highly unlikely. However, other sites will make you believe that this is typical of a government auction. It is not. It happens once in blue moon. You will however be able to find a whole slew of bargains on various items and properties at a huge discount off the normal price. You will also likely run into some unbelievable deals, especially at those government auctions which are less competitive. This is because the federal, state and local governments obtain this property either for free (like when it’s seized) or at a large discount, and really have no profit motive other than to receive whatever amount of money they can get from it. Can you get a car for $100? Yes, but it will not be a brand new Mercedes. That having been said, on many occasions, you can get the bargain of a lifetime.

Are there any hidden fees to buy a car this way?
There are no hidden fees. Standard fees such as title and registration still apply and are paid the same way as if you bought the car through a private transaction or at a dealership. However, the luxury tax is not required, since it’s already been paid by the first owner upon getting the car registration.

There are other sites out there that claim to offer the inside scoop to government auctions information, what makes you any different?
Well, first of all there is no inside scoop, and we do not offer such nonsense. Those sites that claim that they’ll provide you with the “Secrets” to government auctions are full of it. The only really useful information to you is where these auctions are held. Besides that, government auctions really work like any other auctions. What we do is provide you with a comprehensive database of such auctions which includes those that are located in your state or territory and online so that you can participate in them. The way to making money at government auctions or getting your desired house, car, or other item real cheap is to use your head. If you do that and research the value of what you’re buying, you’ll get some great deals. And you could probably get these deals on anything you that you ever wanted. But there’s no secret formula to success at government auctions. Everyone can walk away with a great deal!

Are these “good deals” really just a lot of hype?
Absolutely not! You will find some amazing deals! You will be benefiting from The government seized vehicles and property, as well as property the government confiscates everyday. These items become available for purchase at government auctions. Since the government pays nothing for it, you can pick these items up for pennies on the dollar!

Are there really cars available from $100 or are they junk?
Yes, there are cars to purchase from $100 and they are not junk vehicles. You have the option to inspect them before you purchase them. Many cars at the auctions are almost new with low miles. As an example, if the government seizes a vehicle from an illegal activity, you will have the option to purchase it for pennies on the dollar.

How do I know if there are auctions held in my area?
Auctions are held in every state across the nation! You can check to see if auctions are available in your area by visiting our auction search page by clicking here

Why are the cars so cheap? How can this be true?
Every day thousands of Americans default on their car loans or lease payments… as a result, their new or almost new cars get repossessed by the financial institutions and auctioned off in a hurry, because the cost of storing the cars outweighs the banks’ ability to try to make the lost money back (same with police auctions, etc.). Consequently, lucky people who have access to direct sources where the cars are being sold would find themselves overwhelmed by dirt-cheap offers that look unbelievable to the average car buyer. This is real and is being taken advantage of by many car dealers.

Since you are visiting this site and possibly interested in joining one of our Car Bargain Programs, we wanted to provide some additional background in your research. Car auctions are some of the best ways to acquire new or used cars at great prices and save thousands of dollars. Car auctions are a lot of fun if you know what to expect. Many people attend just to see the selling prices for used cars, but it is also an excellent way to meet other dealers and negotiate car bargains.

Car auctions are making it easier than ever for consumers to get into the car of their dreams. Since there is no fixed price, you can get a used car at any price as long as you are the highest bidder and you have met the minimum bid amount. Like most, you probably have luxury taste, but live on an economy budget. Car auctions are well known for having more affordable prices than buying from a dealer. Depending on the car auction you attend, purchasing a quality used car for as much as 50-90% off retail is possible. As important, most of these auctioned cars are repossessed cars and are newer models with low mileage that are in great condition. Often you will find very high end luxury cars being auctioned off that are repossessed cars from the U.S. Marshall’s Office. So be prepared to see all makes and models when you attend!

So how does a car auction work?

Cars are typically arranged in different areas of the car auction site and auctions are held simultaneously with between two and six vehicles auctioned in each area. Usually it takes less than a minute for a car to be sold once the bidding starts. So, if you are interested in a vehicle, do your research ahead of time and be prepared to act fast! Our recommendation is you attend several car auctions, before you intend to purchase a used car, so you get a feel of each car auction. You will get a list of the cars being sold ahead of time so knowing what model used car you are considering will help you get to the right area of the car auction site. Each auction site has its own personality and even that changes from day to day. There are a lot of other variables you will need to consider as you visit car auction sites. As you visit, you will find some vehicles sell for much higher prices on some days and much lower on others. The car auction sites are trying to get the most for their used cars, so like any good business person, they will start their bidding based variables such as the weather that day, how many buyers are in attendance, the season of the year, or even the time of day for the car auction.

Car auctions are growing in popularity and the best way to find your bargain car at well below retail prices.
